An apple pie recipe that will stay with you forever!
Ingredients
- 1&1/2lbs Apples
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 100g Sugar
- 4 - 6 tbsp Cold water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 25g Sugar
- Deep Heat proof dish
- Preheat oven to Gas mark 7

Preparation
Step 1
Peel and core apples
Step 2
Chop apples into pieces (remember they will shrink once cooked)
Step 3
Add all ingredients into a pan and slowly cook until the apples are soft
Step 4
Follow short crust pastry recipe and line the dish
Step 5
Drain any excess liquid (shouldn't be any)
Pour apple mixture into the pastry lined dish then cover with a short crust pastry lid (either complete or strips)
Step 6
Place in the middle shelf of the oven and cook for 20 - 25 mins or until golden brown
Part way through the cooking process sprinkle a little sugar on the top
