- 400g lamb mince
- 4 medium size potatoes
- 1 large onion (finely chopped)
- 1 clove garlic (optional, finely chopped)
- 2 tomatoes (sliced)
- 1 Aubergine (optional, finely sliced)
- Cheese sauce
- Olive oil

Preparation
Step 1
Set oven to 180 degrees.
Fry onions gently in a little olive oil and add lamb mince and garlic (if used) until the meat has been browned.
Put into an ovenproof dish.
Step 2
Meanwhile boil the potatoes until soft. Mash them down with or without butter.
Step 3
Put the sliced tomato and aubergine (if used) on top of the meat.
Step 4
Spread the potatoes on top to cover the vegetables. Using the handle of a wooden spoon make several holes in the potatoes going right down to the bottom of the dish.
Step 5
Make the cheese sauce. Keep it quite thick and pour over the mixture making sure it goes down into the holes.
Step 6
Put the dish into the oven and cookj for about 30 minutes or until the cheese sauce has turned golden.
