  • 8oz of plain flour
  • 4 oz of Dairygold Margarine or butter
  • 1 egg - beaten
  • 3 to 4 cooking apples
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 10 cloves

Preparation

Step 1

Make pastry by roughly mixing margarine with flour and mixing some egg and water to make soft dough. Reserve part of egg for glazing

Step 2

Grease a pie tin or ovenproof plate and divide pastry in two

Step 3

Peel, core and chop the apples and place on place

Step 4

Sprinkle with sugar and cover with remainder of the pastry - sealing edges

Step 5

Insert the cloves into pastry before cooking

Step 6

Bake in oven temperature 200oc for 25 mins

Great with Whipped Cream or Homemade Ice Cream
