- 2lb s/r flour
- 1lb 6oz sugar
- 1lb 8oz currants
- 1lb sultanas
- 1lb margarine
- 4oz lard
- 4oz ground almonds
- 4oz chopped glace cherries
- 10 eggs
- 1 egg cup vinegar
- a little milk if needed

- 3 tbsp malt extract
- 2 tbsp black treacle

- 14g fast action yeast
- 225g sultanas
- 250ml warm water
- 1 tbsp warm honey, to glaze
