Easy cake recipe


A foolproof cake mix that can be used for large sandwich cakes or making fairy cakes.

  • 4 oz SR Flour
  • 4 oz Butter
  • 4 oz caster sugar
  • 2 eggs

Step 1

Combine the butter, flour and sugar until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs, crack in the eggs and beat together until combined.

Step 2

Pop the mixture into greased tins (shape and size all personal preference this mixture will make large or individual cakes) and cook in a medium oven until a knife comes out the cakes clean.

Step 3

Once cooled add your filling or topping of choice

This easy recipe can be chopped and changed to suit any cake tastes, to make a chocolate cake simply substitute 2 tbs of the flour for cocoa powder or you could add in some lemon zest and juice to make a lemon cake, I also like to mix things up with hints of almond or vanilla essence!
