  • 4oz self raising flour
  • 1 heaped tsp of baking powder
  • 2oz marg
  • 4oz sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 tbsp warm water
  • A pinch of salt


Cooking time 25mins


Step 1

Prepare an 8 inch or two 4 inch tins, grease tins with marg, then dust with flour. (Turn on oven heat 15 minutes before required -160 Fan.)

Step 2

Sieve together in a separate bowl, the flour, baking powder and pinch of salt.

Step 3

Beat the marg a little in mixing bowl, add sugar to marg and beat well.

Step 4

Beat each egg in well and add a little flour with the second.

Step 5

Add 1tbsp of warm water with the sieved flour and fold in with a metal spoon.

Step 6

Put mixture into prepared tin or tins and smooth top, place on the middle shelf of the oven for 25-30 minutes.
