French Pancakes

- 100g plain flour
- Pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 250ml milk
- butter

Step 1
Sift the flour and salt into a bowl
Step 2
Add the unbeaten egg and half the milk
Step 3
Beat into a smooth batter
Step 4
Stir in the remaining milk as required
Step 5
Lightly brush a frying pan with butter and heat over a medium heat
Step 6
When the pan is hot, thinly cover the base with batter
Step 7
Fry until golden brown and then turn
Step 8
Cook the other side until golden and speckled
Step 9
Repeat until all remaining mixture has been used
These pancakes are delicious served with lemon and sugar but can also be used for savory dishes
