Easy Christmas Shortbread Biscuits
A hassle-free shortbread biscuit recipe this Christmas.
- 9oz plain flour
- 3oz cornflour
- bicarbonate of soda
- 3/4oz caster sugar
- 1/2lb butter
- Demerara sugar

Grease and line the base of a 7 1/2inch square shallow tin.
Sift together flour, cornflour and bicarb, add sugar then melted butter.
Press into prepared tin, prick surface with a fork.
Sprinkle with Demerara sugar, bake in centre of oven for 45mins at 335F/175C.
Cut star-shapes out of the shortbread while still hot.
Put icing and decorate accordingly.
