Step 1
mix the butter and sugar in a cake mixer on high speed. until it all comes together.
Step 2
At this point you may choose to keep the icing plain or add some colour of flavouring. it you choice to do so, but just remember to add a spoonful of icing sugar every time you add something, so that the texture will remain stiff and not go runny.
