Ryans Pizza Pies

Created by our son for a year 7 food tech project and now a family favourite

Ingredients
- Pastry
- 200g plain flour and good pinch of salt Sifted
- 100g butter or 50g butter and 50g lard
- Cold water to mix
- Tomato puree or bbq sauce
- Toppings including cheese tomato ham pepperoni onions or anything else you fancy

Preparation
Step 1
Place sifted flour and salt into a bowl. Add fat and rub in to make fine breadcrumbs. Bring mix together with cold water.
Wrap pastry in clingfilm and chill for 20 mins in the fridge.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 180
Step 3
Whilst pastry is chilling prepare your chosen pizza toppings.
Step 4
roll our pastry and cut out 12 rounds to fit your bun tin.
Step 5
Line your bun tins with pastry and spread tomato puree or bbq sauce onto the pastry
Step 6
Add toppings of your choice - be generous here as this is what makes them really tasty.
Step 7
Bake in the oven for 20 to 25 mins.
Step 8
Allow to cool slighly on a wire rack and serve.
Feel free to add herbs, chillis or anything else you fancy. Great as part of a buffett or kids party they also make a great snack. They taste good hot or cold too.
You can also make this as a large pie and serve with a salad for a really tasty lunch.
