Ingredients

  • 225g (8oz) Self Raising Flour
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 55g (2oz) Butter
  • 110g (4oz) Mature Cheddar Cheese (grated)
  • 150ml (5 fl. oz) Milk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 220 deg C (Gas mark 7)

Step 2

Lightly grease a baking tray

Step 3

Mix together the flour and salt, then rub in the butter

Step 4

Stir in the cheese and then the milk to get a soft dough

Step 5

Turn on to a floured surface and knead lightly

Step 6

Roll out to 2cm (3/4 inch) thick and cut out 2cm rounds

Step 7

Brush with milk and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until well risen and golden brown

Step 8

Cool on a wire rack
