  • 200g plain flour
  • 150g brown sugar
  • 100g butter
  • 4 large cooking apples

Step 1

Peel apples and cut into thin slices.

Step 2

Arrange in the bottom of a dish, sprinkling each layer with sugar until 50g is used up.

Step 3

Using the rubbing in method (grabbing small amounts of mixture between thumb and forefinger and grinding them together until mixed), mix the remaining sugar with the butter and flour.

Step 4

Cover the cut and peeled apples with the crumble mixture and cook at gas 6 for 40 minutes or until crumble is nicely browned.
