  • 8oz self raising flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2oz marg
  • 1/4 pint Milk
  • 2-3oz sultanas
  • 1-2oz sugar


Cooking time 15mins


Step 1

Sieve the flour, baking powder and salt together in a mixing bowl. Then rub the marg into the flour with your fingertips.

Step 2

Stir 2 - 3oz of sultanas and 1 - 2oz of sugar into the mixture.

Step 3

Add the milk to rubbed in mixture and mix together with blade of knife to form a soft dough.

Step 4

Sprinkle table top with flour, turn out dough and sprinkle with flour, knead very lightly and quickly with fingertips.

Step 5

Roll out to 1/2 an inch thickness, cut into rounds with a small cutter and place on baking sheet a little apart.

Step 6

Gather scraps together till all used up. Brush the tops with milk.

Step 7

Place on the middle shelf at 220 C for 15 - 20 minutes.
