Ingredients

  • 225g plain flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 55g butter
  • 25g sugar
  • 150ml milk
  • 100g chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 220 celcius. Line a baking tray.
Mix flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add butter and mix until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add milk bit by bit until its a soft dough then add chocolate chips and mix.

Step 2

Turn on to a floured surface and knead lightly. Pat out in to a round of 2cm thick. Cut 5cm rounds and place on baking tray. Knead and cut remainder until all used up.

Step 3

Brush tops with milk and bake for 12-15 mins until well risen.
Cool on wire rack and serve.

You can add fruit or anything you like to change the flavour
