Grandad's Jam/Treacle Pudding

  • 2oz margarine
  • 2oz caster sugar
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2oz plain flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • desert spoon of warm water
  • 1½ tbsp of jam or golden syrup

Step 1

Mix together the margarine and sugar until light and fluffy

Step 2

Stir in the egg, add a half at a time

Step 3

Fold in the sifted flour and baking powder

Step 4

Add the water

Step 5

In another bowl put the jam or syrup

Step 6

Put the other mixture over the top. Do not pat down

Step 7

Cook in the microwave for 2-3 minutes

Step 8

Leave to stand for 6 minutes and serve with custard
