Swiss roll


A nice sugary Swiss roll with lovely strawberry jam filling.

  • 2 eggs
  • 50g sugar
  • 50g self raising flour
  • Strawberry jam
  • Extra sugar for coating the Swiss roll

Step 1

Crack eggs into bowl and add sugar. Whisk with an electric whisk for about 5 minutes until think creamy and white.

Step 2

Fold in the sugar to make more of a cake looking mixture.

Step 3

Add Swiss roll mixture into a baking tray with a baking sheet on.

Step 4

Put in oven for 8-10 minutes.

Step 5

Once out of oven check it is fully the mixture should be spongey and no mixture should come out when put a knife through it.

Step 6

Now get another baking sheet but add some sugar to it. Now place the Swiss roll to it upside down.

Step 7

Add the strawberry jam by smoothing it along the whole of the Swiss roll with a knife.

Step 8

Finally roll the Swiss roll over but making sure the baking sheet doesn't end up on the food. Then cut into 6 pieces and enjoy!
