Preparation
Step 1
Mix the margarine, sugar and eggs until they foam.
Step 2
Slowly mix under the flour, corn flour, baking powder and milk.
Step 3
Place half of the mixture into a lightly greased baking tin. (Fluted tube baking tins work best.)
Step 4
Blend the cocoa powder with a tablespoon of sugar and a dash of milk in a cup. Then mix in with the remaining half of the dough mixture.
Step 5
Place the now chocolatey brown mixture on top of the other half already in the baking tin.
Step 6
Using a fork, lightly stir the dark mixture in with the light mixture in spiral movements (this will give the marbled effect once you slice into the cake). Don't fully mix the two!
Step 7
Bake for 40 minutes in an oven pre-heated at 200°C.
Step 8
Finish off the cake by either dusting it with icing sugar or covering it in a thin layer of melted chocolate.
Serve with whipped cream and a cup of coffee.
