Ingredients

  • • 1 or 2 cans of apricot/ strawberry/ cherry pie filling
  • • 3 ½ cups flour
  • • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • • 1 ½ TBSP sugar
  • • ½ Cup butter
  • • 1 Cup Crisco
  • • ½ cup milk (warmed but not hot)
  • • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • • 2 Eggs – beaten (Let sit out 1 hr before beginning)

Preparation

Step 1

Dissolve the yeast in milk and then add eggs.

Step 2

Mix together dry ingredients.

Step 3

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients.

Step 4

Add egg mixture to flour/Crisco mixture.

Step 5

Mix and refrigerate overnight.

Step 6

Roll out dough on counter dusted with a mixture of flour and sugar.

Step 7

Roll ¼” thick. Cut in squares.

Step 8

Place filling on square and roll or pinch corners to center to make a package.

Step 9

Bake at 350°F until golden brown ~ 15 – 18 minutes.
