Ingredients
- 100g margarine
- 100g caster sugar
- 3 level tablespoons golden syrup
- 300g plain flour
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 egg

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180ºC.
Step 2
Sieve flour, ginger and baking powder into a mixing bowl.
Step 3
Melt margarine, sugar and syrup gently in a saucepan.
Step 4
Add the melted ingredients to the sieved ingredients together with the beaten egg. Mix well.
Step 5
Roll out to the thickness of a 20p piece. Cut into heart shapes.
Step 6
Bake on a greased baking tray for approximately 12-15 minutes. Once done, leave to cool for 10 minutes.
