Steamed Syrup Sponge

Ingredients
- 75g Self raising flour
- 50g soft margerine
- 50g castor sugar
- 1 egg
- 25g golden syrup (or jam)
- 2 pint container
- custard (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Put the flour, margerine, sugar, egg and 2tbs water into a bowl. Mix well for 2minutes. Set aside.
Step 2
Lightly grease a 2pint non metalic bowl (must be microwave safe). pour the syrup into the bottom. Pour the mixture over the top.
Step 3
microwave on high for 3-4minutes. This may take longer or shorter depending on your microwave. Once the sponge is cooked allow to stand for 1 minute.
Step 4
Mix the custard per the packet instructions (unless its pre-made), cut the cake, add the custard and enjoy.
