Ingredients
- 1oz dripping or lard
- 2medium onions, sliced
- 1lb stewing steak, cubed
- 8oz potatoes, thickly sliced
- 4oz button mushrooms
- 1/2oz plain flour
- 2tsp paprika
- 3 tomatoes, skinned and sliced
- salt and pepper
- caraway seeds
- 1/4pt oxo stock

Preparation
Step 1
Melt the fat, add onions, steak, potatoes and mushrooms. cook for 5mins.
Step 2
Stir in the flour, add the paprika. Cook for 1min.
Step 3
Add tomatoes, seasoning, pinch of caraway seeds and beef stock.
Step 4
Bring to the boil, stirring all the time. Cover and simmer for 2 hours
