Fruit Pie

Ingredients
- 300g plain flour
- 150g butter/75g lard or trex and 75g butter
- pinch of salt
- 6 tablespoons water
- 400g fruit filling
- 1 heaped teaspoon sugar

Preparation
Step 1
Pre-heat the oven to 150'C.
Step 2
Place the salt, butter/fat and flour into a bowl and rub together until it looks like breadcrumbs. Then add 6 tablespoons of water gradually to the mixture.
Step 3
Make the mixture into a ball, put onto a floured work surface and divide into 2 pieces. (one larger than the other)
Step 4
Rollout the bigger piece and put a dinner plate on top, then cut around it and put the excess to the side.
Step 5
Put the pastry into the pie dish, then put the fruit into the pie dish and using a pastry brush, brush around the edges.
Step 6
Roll out the rest of the pastry and put it on top of the pie dish and cut away the excess.
Step 7
Seel the edges and make some small holes in the lid to allow the steam to get out.
Step 8
Put some sugar on top then brush the top with water using a pastry brush.
Step 9
Using the rest of the pastry cut shapes to decorate the top of the pie.
Step 10
Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
Allow to cool, then serve.
