  • 3-4tbsp oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • finely chopped
  • 2-3 cloves garlic
  • crushed
  • 1/2tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 chilli powder
  • 1tsp ground coriander
  • 1tsp ground cumin
  • water
  • 3/4tsp salt
  • 1tbsp tomato puree
  • 8oz mushrooms
  • chopped

Step 1

Heat the oil and fry the onions until lightly browned.

Step 2

Add the dry spices and a little water.

Step 3

Continue frying and adding water for about 5mins so spices don't burn.

Step 4

Add salt and tomato puree and mix well.

Step 5

Add mushrooms and 2tbsp water, cover and simmer for about 10mins.
