Step 1

Cut up the onion and the carrot. Fry it in the oil.

Step 2

Add cold water 6dl. Season with salt and pepper. Bring it to the boil, then add the chicken stock.

Step 3

To make the grits dumplings:
- Stir the grits, egg, butter, add salt and parsley. Put it into the fridge for half an hour.
- Make dumplings with two teaspoons, add them to the soup.

Step 4

Add the pasta/dumplings to the soup 5 minutes before the end.
(Or make the pasta separately if you want to save some soup after dinner.)

You can add different vegetables as well: white carrot, sprout, cabbage.
