Ingredients

  • 400g plain flour
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 225g butter, softened
  • 300g light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 200g chocolate chunks, a mixture of plain, milk and/or white

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 190c. Combine the flour, salt and baking soda in a medium sized mixing bowl and stir well.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar, vanilla and milk. Beat using an electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.

Step 3

Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix on low speed until well combined. Stir in the chocolate chunks by hand until they are distributed evenly.

Step 4

Spoon the cookie dough onto an ungreased baking sheet in 2 tablespoon portions, spacing each cookie about 2 inches apart to allow for expansion.

Step 5

Bake the cookies for 10 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown around the edges. Cool for 5 minutes.
