Ingredients
- 500 grams Beef Boneless cut in cubes & beaten with a wooden hammer, 6 cloves, 6 peppercorns, 4 cardamom pods opened, 4-5 red kashmiri chilly's, 1 " cinnamon stick, 4-5 garlic pods, 1" ginger, 2 bay leaves, 1 tea spoon poppy seeds, 2 tablespoon cumin seeds, 2 tablespoon coriander seeds, half grated coconut, 1 onion, 1 tomato,small ball of tamarind or 2 teaspoon lime juice, 2 tablespoon oil, 3 cups water, ginger & garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, salt to taste.

Step 1
Marinate the cubed boneless beef pieces in ginger garlic paste & 1/2 teaspoon turmeric.In a non-stick deep pan dry roast 6 cloves, 6 peppercorns, 4 cardamom pods opened, 4-5 red kashmiri chilly's, 1 " cinnamon stick, 4-5 garlic pods, 1" ginger, 2 bay leaves, 1 tea spoon poppy seeds, 2 tablespoon cumin seeds, 2 tablespoon coriander seeds, half grated coconut for 1 minute till it starts browning make sure you do not burn it. This is done to release all aroma & oils from the ingredients. Set aside in an open plate & let it cool.
Step 2
In the same pan add the 2 tablespoon oil & golden brown thinly sliced 1 onion, add the cubed tomato & once the oil leaves the side add the marinated beef & let it brown well on all sides.
Step 3
In a blender grind the roasted masala to powder form & add it to the pan mix well for 2 minutes, now add water & boil for 15 minutes or till meat is well done. Add the lime juice/tamarind. Add salt to taste.
Step 4
Serve hot with Rice, naan, chapati or roti
The hammered beef cooks quickly.
