- 4 lb sharp apples
- 1 1/2 lb sugar
- 1 1/2 pints water

- 60g potato starch
- 200g sugar
- 180g butter, softened
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 sachet baking powder
- 1 untreated orange
- 200g apricot jam
- Walnuts and roasted almonds for the rim
- White chocolate for the top of cake
- Dark chocolate for the rim
- For decoration:
- A chocolate hen
- Some chocolate eggs wrapped in golden paper
