My mum made these when I was young & now I make them for my kids.
- 1lb s/r flour
- 6oz sugar
- 6oz margarine
- 6oz currants
- 2 beaten eggs
- A little milk if needed

Cream the margarine & sugar together, then add the eggs.
Add the currents & sift in the flour. The mixture should form a very thick dropping consistency.
Place heaped desert spoonfuls onto lightly floured baking trays.
Bake on gas mk4/170 degrees c for 15 to 20 mins.
