Apple and blackberry crumble
A sweet treat for a Sunday afternoon
- Four cooking apples
- 100g blackberries
- 75g caster sugar
- 75g Demerara sugar
- 175g butter
- 50g flour

Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius .
Peel,core and slice applies and place in a saucepan along with five tablespoons of water. Place on hob to stew for 20 minutes.
Prepare crumble by rubbing in butter and flour I a separate bowl until it resembles breadcrumbs, add both sugars.
Grease an ovenproof dish and pour stewed apples into dish. If desired add a teaspoon or two of either ground cinnamon or cloves. Add washed blackberries before covering with crumble.
Place in oven for 30 minutes.
Allow to cool for five minutes and serve with cream or ice cream.
Add 50g nuts or porridge oats to get a more crumbly topping!
