Chocolatey baked Bananas

These lovely bananas are best served with the gorgeous chocolate sauce poured over them you can also serve with ice cream
Ingredients
- 25g (1oz) butter softened
- 40g (1 1/2oz) soft brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon golden syrup
- Small pinch ground cinnamon
- 4 large firm bananas
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- For the chocolate sauce
- 100g (4oz)plain chocolate drops
- 2 tablespoons golden syrup
- 15g (1/2oz) butter
- 2 tablespoons water

Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 200•C 400•F gas mark 6,cut 4 rectangles of kitchen foil for the foil parcels,they should each measure around 30 x 20cm (12 x 18in)
Step 2
Put butter in a bowl stir firmly with a wooden spoon until it's soft & creamy,then stir in the suger,syrup & cinnamon really well too
Step 3
Peel the bananas & cut each 1 in half lengthways,rub them all over with lemon juice then place half a banana in the middle of each foil rectangle
Step 4
Spoon butter & cinnamon mixture onto the flat sides of the bananas then press the other banana halves on top to sandwich the mixture in the middle
Step 5
To make a parcel fold the short edges of the foil over the banana then pull the long edges together over the top squeeze the foil to seal the parcels
Step 6
Put the parcels on a baking tray & bake for 15 mins until the bananas are tender.
While they're cooking make the chocolate sauce
Step 7
Put the chocolate syrup butter & water in a small saucepan,heat the mixture over a low heat stir continuesley until it's smooth take the pan from the heat
Step 8
Remove the parcels from the oven leave for 3 to 5mins to cool Carefully open the parcels watching out for any hot steam
Step 9
Careful tip each parcel so the bananas & sauce slide into a bowl,then use a smaller spoon to drizzle chocolate sauce over the bananas Enjoy the delicious feast
Golden syrup is tricky to measure so heat a spoon in hot water as this makes the syrup easy to measure & will slide off easily
