  • 225g butter
  • 225g brown sugar
  • 350g self-raising flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp ground ginger
  • 250ml warm milk
  • 225g golden syrup

Preparation

Step 1

Line tin with greaseproof paper

Step 2

Melt sugar and butter together, stirring all the time

Step 3

Remove from heat and stir in beaten eggs

Step 4

Sieve flour and ginger and stir into mixture

Step 5

Add milk and golden syrup and stir in well

Step 6

Pour into prepared tin and bake for 1-1 1/4 hours

Step 7

Allow to cool and cut with gingerbread man cutter

Step 8

Store in foil/tin
