- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 300g chickpea's drained from a can (or soaked overnight)
- 100g fava beans (broad beans)
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground corriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs

Preparation
Step 1
Blend the chickpea's, beans and garlic until a fine paste is formed, slice the onion finely and mix this along with the dried herbs and spices, add the egg and mix before moulding balls with your hands
Step 2
Fry gently until golden brown all over, remove from the oil and toss in salt pepper and a little extra paprika before laying to rest on kitchen roll
Step 3
Serve in a warm pitta with your choice of salad and vegetables
For those who aren't vegetarian try adding a rasher of bacon to the pitta, or even vegetarian bacon for a little extra crunch.
