Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180°C).

Step 2

Beat the margarine, brown sugar, sugar and vanilla until mixture is light and fluffy.

Step 3

Add the sifted flour with the salt and mix well

Step 4

Dissolve the baking soda in boiling water and add it to the preparation immediately, stirring well.

Step 5

Stir in the oats and chocolate chips.

Step 6

Make the cookie balls, using a spoon and place on a non-stick or greased baking tray, 2 inches apart.

Step 7

Bake about 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
