Fruit trifle


Yummy fruity trifle with a Swiss roll base with a fruit and custard filling with whipped cream as a topping and grates chocolate.

  • 1 Swiss roll
  • 1 tin of fruit
  • 1 quick gel packet
  • 3 level tbsp corn flour
  • 4 tbsp caster sugar
  • Grated chocolate to decorate
  • 500ml milk
  • 1tsp vanilla essence
  • 300ml double or whipping cream

Step 1

Slice the Swiss roll and place at the bottom of the trifle dish.

Step 2

Drain the fruit and place over the Swiss roll.

Step 3

Make the quick gel according to the packet.

Step 4

Once it has cooled slightly pour over the fruit and place in a fridge to set.

Step 5

Now make the custard. To do this put the cornflour, sugar, milk and vanilla essence into a medium pan and bring to boil whisking constantly over a medium heat. Remember to whisk at all time until it thickens.once it boils turn down the heat and count to 60 and turn off the heat and leave to cool for a while.

Step 6

When the gel has set and custard has college pour te custard over the felt and place in the fridge. Whilst setting whisk the cream until it thickens then place on top of custard and add the grated chocolate on top!
