Parathas

Parathas are the crispier pan-fried version of the chappati or flatbread. They can be taken with curries as well as stir-fry vegetables or even pickle. They are easy to prepare and very little time consuming. This post will guide you through the most generic process of preparing these flakier parathas.

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour (wholemeal or regular)
- Water
- Salt to taste
- Butter/Ghee/Cooking oil

Preparation
Step 1
Mix all the dry ingredients and add water to it to make a firm dough.
Step 2
Add 2 tablespoons of oil while kneading.
Step 3
Make small round balls out of the dough.
Step 4
Roll them out very thinly and then fold them into triangular shape and roll them again .
Step 5
Bake each side on a frying pan for 1-2 min until it turns a little cooked.
Step 6
Add 2-3 tablespoons of oil and spread around the parathas.
Step 7
Fry each side till golden brown and fully cooked.
Step 8
Remove and leave to cool.
Step 9
Ready to serve with curry/ pickle. Enjoy !!!
