Chocolate American Whoopies with cream

- 125g unsalted butter
- 150g dark cooking chocolate
- 3 eggs
- 225g of sugar
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 250g flour
- 30g cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 250g plain Philadelphia spread
- 100 ml of fresh single cream
- 50g icing sugar

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C (gas mark 4). Put greaseproof paper on a baking tray.
Melt the butter and chocolate together. Beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla. Then add the melted chocolate.
Sift the self-raising flour with the cocoa powder and add to the chocolate mixture using a tablespoon.
Place tablespoons of cake batter onto a baking tray, spaced a few centimeters apart and cook for 6-8 mins.
Remove the cakes from the oven and place on a rack to cool completely.
Whisk together the cream and the philadelphia and add the icing sugar.
Spread the cream on half the amount of cakes and stick the cakes together with the halves without cream.
