Green tomato jam with spices

1. Scald the tomatoes. Peel, halve and remove the seeds. Cut the lemon into thin slices.
2. In a large bowl, arrange the tomato slices and lemon, alternating layers and sprinkling them with sugar and cinnamon. Macerate for 12 hours.
3. Pour into a pan for making jam with the cloves. Bring to a boil over low heat. Continue cooking at a low simmer for 1 hour, stirring often. Check for doneness by sprinkling onto a cold plate: the drops should solidify quickly. Spoon the jam into the jars. Cover immediately.
