Preparation
Step 1
Wash your taters.
Step 2
Slice your taters. Orient them so the longest side is running perpendicular to you, parallel to the chopping board. Slice 'em into discs about a 1.5cm thick.
Then slice those discs into chip-like objects about 1.5cm thick.
Step 3
Preheat your over to 200C. Chuck 'em in a pan, fill the pan with water an put the pan on the boil. As soon as the pan hits a rolling boil, remove it and drain them.
Step 4
Put 'em back in the pan, douse them with oil and any combination of seasonings. I use salt and paprika, or salt, pepper and vinegar if I'm putting them with gravy.
Put the lid on and give 'em a hearty shake to spread the seasoning.
Step 5
Spread 'em onto a baking tray and put them in the oven for 45 minutes.
Check 'em every 15 minutes and shake them up.
