Chocolate afghans

A popular biscuit from New Zealand. Somewhere between a cookie and a cornflake cake. Amazing chocolatey taste with a completely unique fantastic texture.
Ingredients
- 225g butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 cups plain flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 2 cups cornflakes
- 200g chocolate
- 1/2 cup cream
- walnuts for decoration

Step 1
Cream 200g of the butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
Step 2
Sift in the flour and cocoa. Fold in the cornflakes. Spoon out 24 mounds onto greased baking paper. Cook in oven at 180 degrees for 15 mins. Wait for them to cool then put the icing on top. To do this, melt the chocolate, Stir in 25g of butter and the cream. Beat until thick. Allow to cool then ice the afghan biscuits. Place a walnut on top of each biscuit.
Make sure the icing has cooled before icing the biscuits. Stores really well in a Tupperware box provided you can resist them!
