"My blog is mainly about food but I do like the freedom of being able to blog about anything I fancy. The only issue with that is that I have less of a "niche" but it suits me better this way. I change my mind waaaaay too often to blog about a single subject!"

Hello Wallflower Girl, so tell us...

When did you begin your blog and what inspired you to start it?

I began blogging just over a year ago after some encouragement from friends and family. At first it was a place where I would just link friends to so they could try my recipes but when strangers started visiting and commenting on my blog I saw it had the potential to be more!

Are you active in the blogging community? Have you met any interesting people through your blog or has it brought you to new places?

I think you get back what you give. So if you enjoy reading other people's blogs and getting involved in their discussions, the more likely people will do the same for your blog. I've met some very talented, inspiring and lovely people through blogging :-)

Do you have a secret weapon in the kitchen?

I like to make the most of my freezer by chopping up veg, garlic, chili, herbs etc. and keeping them in ziplock bags for when I need them. Chopping onions is my pet hate so I mostly use frozen diced onion if I can get away with it. Saves a lot of time, money and washing up.

What would be your choice of dish or menu if you had to choose your "last meal ever"?!

The answer to this would change at least 3 times a day I think. But at the moment I'm craving apple pie, so I would choose that!

What is your earliest memory involving food?

My mum taught me how to bake scones when I was just three-years-old and I've been baking them regularly ever since. The smell of freshly baked scones has always been a great comfort to me...

Your blog isn't just about cooking, could you tell us a bit more about the other things you like to write about?

Sometimes I blog about my other hobbies such as flower arranging and craft projects. My blog is mainly about food but I do like the freedom of being able to blog about anything I fancy. The only issue with that is that I have less of a "niche" but it suits me better this way. I change my mind waaaaay too often to blog about a single subject!

Which Gourmandize recipe would you recommend? (if none take your fancy add your own and share it with us!)

Mmm, they all look good... but I would recommend the Ultimate Beetroot and Chocolate Cake. I was skeptical before trying this pairing but they really go beautifully together. Delicious!

Thank you Wallflower Girl for answering our questions and see you soon!
