Discover Luchia's favourite recipe: Safe-to-lick-the-bowl Cookie Dough (Not just for kids...)

My secret weapon is easily the veggie Oxo cube. It's my secret ingredient in so many of my dishes which I have had people turn their noses up at but after eating my meals they always end up agreeing with me. I'll stand by them till the end!

Hello Luchia, so tell us...

How much do your roots inspire your cooking?

"I come from an Italian family so I always have family members trying to stuff me with food! We are a big family which means there's always someone cooking up a storm. From a young age I've always tried to get stuck in, learning all different kinds of dishes and bakes. My mother and Nonna have taught me everything I know and I hope to pass down our family recipes to my future bambinos."

In your wildest dreams, where is your blog going to take you as it develops?

Of course I'd love to bring out my own cookery book and perhaps TV show to help ordinary people cook tasty meals in a short amount of time, but for me this blog is much more about my personal journey. I'd be thrilled to just develop my skills and host successful dinners for my family and friends and be able to look back and think wow I've come a really long way from cooking pasta with my mother.

Have you met any interesting people through your blog or has it brought you to new places?

The great thing about blogging is meeting people with exactly the same interests and goals as yourself but from all different parts of the world. I'm lucky enough to say I've made some really wonderful friends for life who I would never of met if it wasn't for cooking.

What is your secret weapon in the kitchen?

My secret weapon is easily the veggie Oxo cube. It's my secret ingredient in so many of my dishes which I have had people turn their noses up at but after eating my meals they always end up agreeing with me. I'll stand by them till the end!

What dish or menu could you not live without?

Chinese food! Chinese food and some more Chinese food! I cannot and doubt I ever will be able to make proper Chinese takeaway meals in my own home so it's always a treat when I get to eat sweet and sour prawns with egg fried rice.

What is your earliest memory involving food?

My earliest memory has to be me and my siblings sat with my cousins at my Nonna's kitchen table on a beautiful summers day eating her homemade pasta with freshly squeezed lemonade. My Nonna's pasta is by far the best I have ever had in my life.

What chefs do you admire most and why?

I am a huge fan of Jamie Oliver as well as Nigella lawson for putting her hands up and saying yes I use pre-made ingredients so what! I also really admire Heston Blumenthal for his amazing creativity, it's my dream to go to Heston's Dinner restaurant.

If you could be a contestant or guest on any cooking show, what show would you choose?

I'm a huge fan of so many cooking shows but if I had to be on one I'd have to say The British Bake Off not that I would last long as a contestant, I recently attended a cooking class and that pressure was bad enough!

Which Gourmandize recipe would you recommend? (if none take your fancy, add your own and share it with us!)

There are so many great recipes to choose from! I'm an absolute sucker for American treats especially cookie dough so MissHannahBerry's Safe-to-lick-the-bowl Cookie Dough is definitely a favourite for me.

Any last words or message for our readers?

To finish I just want to thank Gourmandize for creating such a brilliant platform for foodies and my wonderful readers that have become real friends of mine, you really do keep me persevering on those bad cooking disasters I know we all get. I hope to make many many more friends on my food quest so please don't hesitate to pop me a line :) all the best Luchia x
