Hello Florence, so tell us...

When did you begin your blog and what inspired you to start it?

I started my blog in April this year. It was a time when I was intensely thinking about me and my passions. I realised how much I love cooking and creating recipes when I was reading a Donna-Hay-cookbook for about the fourth time. I thought that it would be nice to share my kitchen-experiences and ideas with other cookery-addicts.

In your wildest dreams, where will your blog take you as it develops?

It would be great if someone, or rather a chef or a publisher wanted me to write a cookbook (and if people then would be interested in a cookbook containing my inspirations and recipes). Or if someone asked me for some advice and ideas, even though I'm not a professional chef.

What is your favourite dish of all time?

That's such a hard question. I guess I've got a favorite dish for each season of the year.
But as I love exotic meals I'd say, you can always convince me with self-made thai-food: my mother makes a great vegan thai-coconut soup with Ramen-Noodles, crunchy, spicy tofu, mushrooms and cilantro. You have to prepare the curry yourself, leave the tofu in the oven for quite a while and it's really time-consuming but it is definitley worth the effort!

Your photos are really pretty, in your opinion what makes a dish beautiful?

The love, excitement and passion you put in it.

Do you have a secret weapon in the kitchen?

Yes, scissors! It might be a bit unconventional, but I cut almost everything with them when I have to hurry up a bit! And concerning foodstuffs cinnamon and clove. I'm addicted to them.

What is your earliest memory involving food?

When I was about four years old I desperately wanted to bake a cake at my grandma's place. She was very sceptical and asked me whether she should get me a recipe. I say "No, I know how that works". And for everyone's surprise it did work out. That moment, when I proudly took my own cake out of the oven was when the romance between me and cookery started.

Are there any chefs that you admire in particular?

Donna Hay. Her recipes are simple but awesome. And I'm so jealous of her extremely nice-looking and stylish kitchen utensils she always shows in her cookbooks. Where the... did she find them?!

If you could be a contestant or guest on any cooking show what show would you choose?

I think I'd like to cook with Jamie Oliver. I love his natural, unconventional and rustic manner of treating the food he prepares. In general I don't appreciate cooking shows in which you have to cook in a hurry. That's a pity as you can't enjoy cooking then.

Which Gourmandize recipe would you recommend? (if none take your fancy add your own and share it with us!)

I'd love to share a recipe from my blog with you, a very healthy recipe for a snack:

gluten-free apple-carrot-cinnamon brownies

Any last words or message for our readers?

When it comes to cooking: Be courageous! Be passionate and creative! Respect nature and its huge diversity! Cooking can be so manifold and unites people all over the world, just give it a try.

Thank you Florence for answering our questions and see you soon!
