Rich Coffee Brownie with Chocolate Ameretto Sauce


Lovely rich chocolate briwnies served with a rich Ameretto sauce

  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 100ml strong dark coffee
  • 50g butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 200g caster sugar
  • 50g flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 80g chopped walnuts
  • For the Ameretto sauce:
  • 200g plain chocolate
  • 15g unsalted butter
  • 100 ml Perco coffee
  • 1 tablespoon Ameretto liqueur

Step 1

Melt chocolate with coffee and butter in a bowl.
Whisk eggs and sugar till creamy. Add in flour with baking powder and then stir in the chocolate coffee mixture.

Step 2

Stir in the chopped walnuts.
Transfer the mixture into a square tin and bake in oven gas 3 or 140C for 45 minutes. When cooked, leave to cool.

Step 3

For the Chocolate Ameretto Sauce:

Melt chocolate, butter and coffee in a pan.
Stir in the Ameretto liqueur.

Step 5

To serve:
Place a slice of Brownie on a warm plate. Spoon over with warm Chocolate Coffee sauce. Decorate with whipped cream and a Physalis.
