- 225g self-raising flour
- 2 teaspoon baking powder.
- 2 tablespoon caster sugar.
- 150ml milk

Preparation
Step 1
Mix the flour, baking powder and sugar in a bowl with the milk and form a soft dough
Step 2
Roll the dough 1/2 cm thick and cut with a 4cm biscuit cutter, place a small dab of jam in the center of one and cover with another disk, crimp the sides and roll gently into a ball to hide the seam, repeat to make doughnuts.
Step 3
Fry the doughnuts in small batches for 2 minutes each at 180 degrees.
Step 4
Drain on kitchen roll and then toss lightly in icing sugar and caster sugar to coat the surface.
Feel free powder some flavoured sweets or popping candy and toss the cooked doughnuts in these for added flavour.
