Cranberry and apple Christmas pie
These pies are delicious and simple to make. Nice for a Christmas treat

Ingredients
- For the short crust pastry:
- 200g plain flour
- 50g lard
- 50g margarine
- 1 pinch of salt
- 8 teaspoon of cold water to mix
- For the filling:
- 4 tablespoon cranberry sauce
- 4 tablespoon apple sauce

Preparation
Step 1

Place flour, salt, lard and margarine in a food processor. Blitze for 4 seconds. Add in water and blitze for another 4 seconds till the mixture form a dough. Remove the dough from the processor, cover and leave to chill in the fridge for 30 minutes
Step 2
Remove pastry out of the fridge. Roll out the pastry and line 4x10cm loose-based tartlet tins. Mix the apple and cranberry sauce together. Divide the apple and cranberry between the pastry cases.
Step 3
Roll out the excess pastry and use a Christmas tree cutter and cut them into 4 pastry shapes. Place a pastry shape on top of each pie.
Step 4
Bake the pies in the oven gas mark 6/ 200C for 20-25 minutes. Cool the pie on a wire rack.
Step 5
Decorate the top of the pie with icing sugar mix with water.
