Preparation

Step 1

Bring a pot of water to a boil and add salt. Dip the bean sprouts in the water and cook for 1 minute.

Step 2

Drain in a sieve and immerse in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking. Drain in the sieve again.

Step 3

Finely grate the garlic over a bowl. Add sesame oil, soya sauce, chili powder and sugar. Mix.

Step 4

Add the bean sprouts in the bowl and mix well. Cover with cling film and marinate in the fridge for 2 h.

Step 5

Serve the Kong namul well chilled, sprinkled with chopped spring onion stems.
