Hello imafoodie, so tell us...

When did you begin your blog and what inspired you to start it?

It all started in 2011. I have always been a foodie. So when fate brought me to London after marriage, I had loads of time to myself which I devoted to cooking for my hubby. Like I love capturing every moment with my camera, same goes with the food too. So thereon I started blogging to share my experiments and experiences with food.

In your wildest dreams, where will your blog take you as it develops?

Well it’s a long way to go but I have always dreamt of having my own restaurant. Maybe this blog could be a stepping stone to my dream.

What is your favourite dish of all time?

I love everything from cakes to curries. But to name one, I would say Paneer tikka (grilled and smoked Indian cheese).

We really like your photos, in your opinion what makes a dish beautiful?

Thank you so much. I believe that fresh ingredients and flavours always look great. Then I always spend time plating up my dishes, experimenting with different props and presentation. As far as photography skills are concerned I am still learning.

Do you have a secret weapon in the kitchen?

My non stick wok in which I cook a wide range of dishes from stir fries to curries. It makes my life so easy.
One secret ingredient that I often use in most of my curries and soups is dry fenugreek leaves which gives a very nice flavour and aroma .

What is your earliest memory involving food?

I can remember being in the kitchen with my mom and watching her, learning and trying to help as she cooked for us. I think that’s where I got my basic love for cooking and food.

Are there any chefs that you admire in particular?

I love watching Nigella Lawson ‘s cookery shows…she makes everything look so simple and yet so beautiful. I even admire Adriano Zumbo and Gordan Ramsay. Indian favourites include Sanjeev kapoor and Tarla dalal whose shows I have been watching since childhood.

If you could be a contestant or guest on any cooking show what show would you choose?

Masterchef no doubt. It's my favourite show for the kind of exciting challenges it brings on the contestants.I just love the format of the show and if ever given a chance to participate I would be on cloud nine 

Which Gourmandize recipe would you recommend? (if none take your fancy add your own and share it with us!)

Here, I would like to share my recipe of mango chocolate cake which I made for my hubby’s birthday.

Any last words or message for our readers?

Thanks for reading my interview. Stay tuned on imafoodie (http://srivastavacharu.blogspot.co.uk/) for a wide range of recipes. I would love to hear feedback from you all.
