Hello Joydeep Pal, so tell us...

When did you begin your blog and what inspired you to start it?

I am an ardent food lover and I got my cooking lessons from my mother over a decade ago. I love to experiment with new foods and after lots of requests for recipes from my friends, I decided to open a blog wherein I can share all my recipes around the globe.

In your wildest dreams, where will your blog take you as it develops?

Clearly, I never expected to be so popular as it reached now. My primary aim has been to share the recipe in a short and easy manner so that anyone and everyone gets inspired to cooking, but sooner it caught the attraction of people. Wildest dream..... would take me to become a Grandmaster Chef.

What is your favourite dish of all time?

I love all the food cooked by my mom and of them all, I would select MuriGhonto,an Indian Dish prepared with Fish Head and rice and potatoes. Regarding the vegetarian food, I would select Potol Posto or Pointed gourd in poppy seeds.

We really enjoy your photos, in your opinion what makes a dish beautiful?

I am very much delighted and thankful for liking my photos. To my perspective, a food needs to be nicely and very well dressed to be attractive just like in any other aspects of life. The camera only capture those beautiful moments as pictures.

Do you have a secret weapon in the kitchen?

I have got a Spice grinder and that saves a lot of time. Sometimes, you need the fresh ingredients and spices form an important factor in cooking and that brings a different flavour to the food.

What is your earliest memory involving food?

Nice question. I would definitely say I remember my mom making the Payesh (rice pudding ) on my birthday when I was really young.

Are there any chefs that you admire in particular?

I really admire the chefs who can make wonderful recipes out of really regular stuffs and make yummy food. I am not that kind of a person who likes to deal with precision but rather prefer the flavour and satisfied tastebuds. Jamie Oliver, Sanjeev kapoor are few of my favourites although my ultimate inspiration is my mom.

If you could be a contestant or guest on any cooking show what show would you choose?

Masterchef is a great platform for different chefs with varied skills to showcase their talents. I would definitely love to join the show if I get a chance.

Which Gourmandize recipe would you recommend? (if none take your fancy add your own and share it with us!)

I love my newest addition to my blog : Mehti Fish ( Salmon cooked in Fenugreek Leaves). Fish is always on the top of the favourites list and Fenugreek Leaves adds it's unique taste.

Any last words or message for our readers?

Cooking is a live art and the artist can design a dish based on their imagination. There is no hard and fast rule to follow the recipes. The audience loves the customization of the recipes according to their taste.

Thank you Joydeep Pal for answering our questions and see you soon!
