  • 1 1/4 cup of cream, full or light
  • 3/4 cup of bacon bits or chopped ham
  • 1/2 cup of gruyere shredded cheese (or one cup if you really like cheese)
  • 1 large puff pastry that you can unroll
  • Salt

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C.

Step 2

Whisk the eggs in a bowl, then add the cream and the cheese. Salt the mixture very lightly if you choose to.

Step 3

Heat the bacon bits in a pot, but don't let them cook.

Step 4

Spread the pastry into a pie pan, then evenly spread the bacon bits on top. After arranging the bacon or ham, go ahead and pour the egg mixture into the crust. Bake for 30 minutes.

I've found that if you put the toppings in a quiche after the egg mixture, they will float a bit. That's why I always put them in first!
