Ingredients

  • Canadian Rye Whiskey (or Bourbon if you can't find it)
  • 1 lemon per drink
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • orange bitters
  • 1 large egg per drink (keep only the egg white)

Preparation

Step 1

Squeeze the lemon into a shot glass or standard cocktail measure, making sure you don't get any seeds. Pour into the glass.

Step 2

Put the same amount of Canadian as lemon into the glass. (So 1 part lemon, 1 part Canadian)

Step 3

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, about 3/4 of the way. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar, then top with the lemon/whiskey mixture.

Step 4

Add the egg white to the shaker, and a couple of drops of bitters.

Step 5

Shake vigorously for a few minutes, so that the egg white has time to get frothy. Strain and pour into glass.
